Diploma in Visual Arts (D. V. A) Course

General information for the candidates seeking admission to the D.V.A. Course

1. There shall be six semesters in DVA of three Year duration. In each year there shall be two semesters:

  • First Year : First and Second semester
  • Second Year : Third and Fourth Semester
  • Third Year : Fifth and Sixth Semester

2. Semester classification:

  • Odd semester (First, Third and Fifth) : July - December
  • Even semester (Second, Fourth and Sixth): January - June

3. Eligibility for Admission

  • Any student passing 10th standard examination or its equivalent with at least 4 subjects including English from any recognized board/council shall be eligible for admission to the 1st semester of the DVA programme of studies subject to availability of seats.
  • No candidates shall be allowed to be admitted to the 1st semester class of DVA curriculum until he/she has completed the 16 years of age. There is no upper age limit for DVA programme.
  • The candidate must have passed the Madhyamik (10th standard) examination or equivalent examination from TBSE or any other recognized board.
  • The Govt. College of Art and Craft shall arrange for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Admission shall be made on the basis of performance in the CAT.
