General information for the candidates seeking admission to the B.V.A. Honours Course

  1. Preference to admission in 1st semester classes will be given to candidates passed in the current year followed by the candidates passed in last year and the year before last year respectively depending on the availability of seats.
  2. Admission to all courses shall be made strictly on the basis of the performance of candidates in the Common Admission Test (CAT) and accordingly a merit list for selected candidates will be published.
  3. Any student passing H.S(+2) examination or its equivalent with at least 4 subjects including English from any recognized board/council shall be eligible for admission to the 1st semester of the BVA(Hons.) programme of studies subject to availability of seats. However, no candidate shall be allowed for admission into 1st semester class of studies after a lapse of more than 5(five) years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
  4. All admission process to first semester classes of BVA(H) programme shall be completed latest by 10th July of each academic year. In case of other semesters, provisional admission to subsequent semester classes be completed within fifteen days from the date of completion of previous semester examination.
  5. A student shall have to apply with 1 copy of recent passport size photo for University Registration in prescribed format within 30 days from the last date of admission. No application for registration will be entertained after the expiry of the expiry of the stipulated period.
  6. A student shall be allowed to change a subject/branch with 15 days form his/her admission to college. No such change shall be entertained once application for University registration is forwarded to the University from the college.
  7. No student shall be allowed to prosecute two regular programmes offered by the Tripura University simultaneously.
  8. In regard to marks bar for admission against reserve seats/quotas for ST/SC/PH/OBC candidates the guidelines/instructions of State Government/UGC will be followed from time to time.
  9. Since the semester involves continuous assessment there would be no scope for a student to appear as a private candidate in any subject.
  10. A student must pass his/her all semester examinations within seven years from the date of admission to the first semester course.
  11. Students performance shall be monitored throughout the semester by continuous assessment in the theory and practical course. Evaluation of the student performance in each of the theory and practical course will be based on the following:
    • Internal evaluation - 20% marks
    • External evaluation - 80% marks
  12. The medium of instructions for BVA(H) shall be in English and the candidates will be required to answer preferably in English in honours papers other than language subjects. The question paper shall be set only in English other than language subjects.
  13. No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the 1st semester class of BVA(H) curriculum until he/she has completed the 17 years of age and has not exceeded age 28 on 1st July of the year of admission.
  14. The candidate must have passed the H.S.(+2) examination or equivalent examination from TBSE or any other recognized board.
  15. All admission will be provisional subject to the fulfilment of conditions and rules of the College and University.
  16. Students desire to take admission from waiting list will have to know their position from the college notice board every day during admission process.

    • Certificate of Proficiency of Art (if any)
